Making waves in Southampton

Tom and Ian started the Bank Holiday weekend in style with a trip down to sunny Southampton to see what was on offer for corporate sailing groups on the south coast.

After a meeting at the Royal Southampton Yacht Club, the pair were treated to canapes and drinks on board a luxury powerboat moored in the marina, before donning their lifejackets and heading out onto the River Solent.

The Chillisauce duo enjoyed a white knuckle rib ride flying across choppy water left by passing ferries and plenty of 180 degree turns at speeds approaching 40 knots, before boarding a racing yacht to have a go at sailing themselves. Although it wasn't a particularly blustery day, the yacht managed to get plenty of speed up and under the guidance of the professional sailors, Tom took the helm and was soon sailing like a modern day Sir Francis Chichester.

Tom and Ian then headed back to the marina to have a look at some more of the boats available for corporate days before heading back to the yacht club for a cool drink. There have been harder days at work!
